Biography
Ivana Jozic is a dancer and actress born in Zagreb, residing between Belgium and Croatia. Ivana completed her ballet education at the School for Classical Ballet in Zagreb, where she was also a member of the ballet ensemble at the Croatian National Theatre. She continued her study in contemporary dance at the London Contemporary Dance School and further completed her acting studies at the Drama Studio London. After her studies, Ivana participated in a large number of projects with various authors in Europe, Asia, and America.
In 2003, she became a member of the Troubleyn Company founded by Jan Fabre. As one of Jan Fabre’s leading performers, she has participated in almost all of Troubleyn’s projects from 2003 to the present day, touring in Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and America.
The collaboration started for the production Je suis sang (2003) and continued with other productions: Tannhäuser (2004), The Crying Body (2004), Histoire des Larmes (2005), Requiem for Metamorphosis (2007), Orgy of Tolerance (2009) and Prometheus Landscape II (2011), Belgium Rules/Belgian Rules (20018) and Fluid Force of Love (2021). Ivana was part of Jan Fabre’s unique 24-hour project Mount Olympus (2015) and continues to work on other projects to this day. She toured for four years with Fabre’s solo Angel of Death (2004), a worldwide success which won the Golden Laurel Wreath at the MESS International Theatre Festival, honouring the best overall performance. In 2008, Fabre had written and created another solo for her: Another Sleepy, Dusty, Delta Day. Ivana is one of the core members and teachers of Jan Fabre Teaching Group.
She works intensively with young actors and dancers to improve their physical and mental skills for stage performances. As a member of Jan Fabre Teaching Group, she leads international performing arts workshops throughout Europe, Russia, Korea, and America. As a film actress, Ivana appeared in a film installation by director Chantal Akerman, Women from Antwerp (2007), and in the films, Doctor Fabre Will Cure You, by Pierre Coulibeuf (2013)and Umpire by Leo Van Dijl (2015).
Ivana is a certified Yoga Alliance instructor and has been practising various styles of yoga for more than 20 years.
